Take a Stroll Down Memory Lane

One year ago, my husband and I were visiting Washington, DC.  It was such a lovely trip!  Because we were there on Lincoln's birthday and during the week after, there were lots of extra activities going on around town.  We were able to be one of the first to view the inside of Ford's Theatre after their Grand Re-Opening.  It was very interesting to piece together the facts and relive the night that Lincoln was shot by John Wilkes Booth.  You could just image his wife and friends chatting, waiting, and worrying inside the Petersen Boarding House where Lincoln was taken after being shot.  This was just one highlight of our trip!

We were very blessed to have excellent weather while we were there.  It is such a major contrast to what they are having there now!  Compare 65 degree days to, as my friend who lives outside of DC put it, "foots and foots of snow!"  Wow, am I ever thankful for beautiful weather!  I can image that snow -- 'foots and foots of snow' -- could ruin a trip!  Especially when you live in a place that rarely gets snow and so you wouldn't even know where to buy snow boots, much less own a pair!

If you are debating on visiting DC or somewhere else, I say that you should go visit our nation's capital.  It will be a truly wonderful and very entertaining - yet very educational - family vacation!

New Item Offers!

I am pleased to announce that I am now carrying ribbon wrapped headbands in my Etsy shop!  These headbands are wrapped in grosgrain ribbons and topped with the bow of your choice!  For pricing information see my Etsy shop.

To purchase a bow headband, simply add both the bow you want and the 'headband add on' to your cart and I will put your bow on a coordinating headband, instead of a barrette.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Today, marks the day that my Sweetheart and I have been together for nine years! To celebrate, we will probably stop in for ice cream some where, just as we did on our first mini-date, as we like to call it!

What traditions do you and your sweetheart have for Valentine's Day?

Happy Valentine's Day to my Sweetheart! I love you and your nerdy sense of humor!

January Sales

It's that time, again.... so now you are saying, "for what?!"  So once upon a time, when I thought I had time for blogging, I would report on the items I sold for the month.  So, now that January is passed, I am supposed to tell you all about my wonderful sales on Etsy.

This should be a wonderful occasion -- except that I only had one sale last month!

This bowholder was shipped to Kentucky.  The proud new owner had this to say, "I love the bow holder."

You could say this, too!  hint, hint....

Featured Bow of the Week -- Ballet Slippers Hairbow

The Prissy Sissy Bow of the week is the Ballet Slippers bow.  This bow is made from grosgrain and satin ribbons.  This is an original creation, so you may never see a bow like this any where but Prissy Sissy Bows.  I've seen others making ballet bows similar to this, but they used foam cutouts for the slippers rather than sculpted ribbon.

I would love for your little princess to wear this bow!

You Could've Guessed It!

Yes, my camera is dead! There will be no pictures tonight! Maybe tomorrow...

Well, here is the new banner I made for my Etsy shop last month.  I made this using PowerPoint.  I'm really surprised in myself!

Can someone please help me get motivated?!

I really need to be taking really good pictures of my bows. Then I really need to upload them to a local one-hour photo establishment. Then I need to complete my craft show applications. Then I need to mail the applications with my photos to the addresses at the bottoms of my applications.

Why is it that I have all of this to do, but all I can do right now is sit and do nothing? I really think that if someone were to put a piece of chocolate in there on my craft table, that it might motivate me just enough to do a little something.....

Maybe I'll conquer my to-do list tomorrow...!
